Description

This is the westernmost of the Crosier Crags and has the highest concentration of quality climbs. There is bulletproof granite slab climbing along with steep cracks and a roof section. The lower parts of the climbs tend to be shaded behind trees. ***A 60 METER ROPE IS MANDATORY FOR THE RAPPELS.***

Getting There

Follow the trail past a jumble of short cliffs and boulders, passing Trailside Crag. Just before the trail crosses the drainage and starts heading up the south side of the valley, diagonal up to the right following cairns (these may have been taken down). When you reach a double cairn, continue up and left along cairns to the base of the wall.

This is one of the best routes at Crosier. Climb fun horizontals followed by a reachy slab on the first pitch then a beautiful lieback crack on the second. P1. 5.10c/d: climb fun horizontals past three bolts, cross the crack and step up to a bolt. Stretch left past the fifth bolt (very height dependent) then angle right to the crack and up to the anchors. For those less than 5'9" or 10", after clipping the fifth bolt step right and ascend directly to the crack (5.11a).P2. 5.11a/b: step left,...[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
