London, Werewolf, and Hut Towers.

This is one of a series of towers at the south end of the east side of the gorge. Immediately right of the taller London Tower, it's distinguished by the wolf ear summit towers. The climber's right ear is slightly higher. Freezy Nuts is probably the most popular route on the formation, but there are other established routes on the west side of the peak.

Getting There

Approach times will vary by basecamp. It's across the gorge from Mounts Bradley and Wake. Climbers might find crevasses on the last 1/4 mile of the approach.

Climbers should consider overnight lows, daytime highs, and timing when planning an ascent.Boot up the debris cone and into the narrowing chute. Around 5700' the couloir narrows considerably and steepens slightly. Continue through this section over several steep steps. Thou...[more]   Browse More Classics in Alaska
