BETA PHOTO: The steep face of Wavy Gravy Wall

Wavy Gravy Wall has a mixture of technical steep face climbs and more moderate slab climbs on the right side.

Getting There

Park at the Lake George parking lot and start hiking on the Crystal Lake Trail. Hike uphill for several minutes until you reach some large water tanks and then leave the trail heading west. Cross over the ridgeline and then contour along the hillside following some metal pipes until you reach a stream. The first crag you see is Spring Crag - continue passed this for a further 80 yards. Wavy Gravy Wall is easily seen up to your left. The approach takes 15-20 minutes if you hit it right.

Vertical crack and dihedral directly right of The Giving Tree route. A bit heady at the beginning, but good protection at the vertical crack. Followed by easy slab then a very dirty dihedral. Think rock slings for pro at the dihedral. You can traverse to the bolts at the top of The Giving Tree or top out and rap off the bolts of the surrounding routes....[more]   Browse More Classics in California

The climbs are good, but for most, the last 1/3 is covered in moss and dirt.
