This is very secluded, yet literally seconds from the parked car. A NE Spur of rock with visible anchors from the road is what you want to direct yourself toward. The quartzite here is still quite dirty despite the two known routes being there for more than 20 years?

Worthwhile for a change of scenery.

Getting There

1.5 miles up canyon from the black digital BCC road condition sign or Park And Ride, find a convenient turn off and park. The climbs are visible from here. A 2 x 6 board spans BCC Creek just 20m east of the climb. Despite this assistance, obviously some high water periods may exist making the crossing too dangerous. Usually it is not a problem, but approach carefully.

Climbing Season

For the Big Cottonwood Canyon area.

Weather station 0.4 miles from here

This is the route just to the left and a little up hill from Water Crest and the only other route on this nice little wall I noticed. Stevo has moved on to more trout fishing than climbing and he can not recall the name of this line. Pitch #1: Climb dirty, lichen covered quartzite quite a ways to the first bolt, then surmount a tricky bulgy roof and continue up thin edges on polished quartzite to the same two-bolt belay as for Water Crest.Rappel the route....[more]   Browse More Classics in Utah
