Hi all!
I really want to start trad climbing here in SoCal and doing some beginner level multi pitch climbs… but honestly don’t know where to start. As of right now I have done some leading in the gym and up in big bear area and have done a few leads in Joshua tree (that was a few years back and I don’t remember the routes). I have just started climbing again as well as finally got my wife into it. (we are taking her first climbing trip to Joshua tree in a few weeks where I plan on setting up top ropes and such). I also want to start doing multi pitch stuff, however my wife and brother in law don’t have the desire for that (yet, as they are brand new to all this) but I really like the idea of doing some easier multi pitch climbs here in SoCal. I know first I have to find a partner/mentor before I can even get out there on the rock (which I will be posting up for once my time frees up more in the end of March) but any other suggestions of where to start? Books? Videos? Maybe even classes? Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help!!

A pricier way to go, but you'll learn a lot and stay safe, is to hire a guide from these guys and climb at Tahquitz:

Or even better, for the cost of a carabiner, buy the book:

:)
All the best and have fun.

You can't beat old school, beer for knowledge, mentorship. In my most humble opinion. If you can find a badass dude to mentor you, chomp at the bit!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
