BETA PHOTO: The Wall of Mediocrity. Routes from left to right:...

A short, lichen-encrusted, northwest facing wall of pretty good quality rock offering four easy/moderate sport routes. However, the wall is steep for only a short bit at the start and backs off pretty quickly.
The wall is the northwest side of the block of rock that is the Gnar Wall just across the gully from Drive-By Genocide.

The loose rock has been cleaned pretty well but there's quite a bit of lichen and dirt that still needs cleaning. A wire brush at the base of wall is there to be used to brush up the routes if one is so inclined.

Getting There

Walk east/southeast along the Walt's Wall (aka The Outsider Wall) and uphill to the "back way" to Gnar Wall but instead of scrambling up the narrow gully to the the Gnar Wall, go left, step over the huge downed pine tree and you're there.

The left-most route on the wall offers the most consistent angle of climbing on colorful rock. Climb good holds to a crux about halfway up. Cruise easier, yet entertaining terrain to the anchors....[more]   Browse More Classics in New Mexico

Had a fun time being mediocre climbers at this crag. It was hard to gauge the difficulty of the routes because even though we were climbing in shade we were looking up into the sun most of the time and finding holds was tough. In fact, finding the bolts was tough! Nonetheless -- thanks for the new routes!

Great! I'm glad to hear the routes are seeing some action. I think we did too good of a job of camouflaging the hardware and most don't even realize there are routes here.
