Rock Climbing Photo: Graffiti at the top of the Summit wall of Lone Pea...
Graffiti at the top of the Summit wall of Lone Peak. LAME!

Who is Greg Maas? He needs to clean up this mess. Not acceptable!

Yes. He tweeted about it as well. Google archived he went with his buddy Eric Landon.

Google. Is there nothing you don't know about us.

Is that from a marker or the end of a burnt stick? Brad Brandewie

Is that summit only accessible via 5th class terrain?

The summit is accessible via rock scrambling. Tons of people go up there eveyr year. I sent both of them personal messagaes through facebook. I'm planning on going up there again in 2 weeks. The graffiti'd better not be there by then! Shiho

Anyone know if you can be fined for that? That could be a good incentive to get them back up there. Austin Baird

If they're dumb enough to leave their full names I think someone should send this photo to whoever is in charge of management...fines should be in order. RockinOut

I messaged both of them, and posted on my wall so hopefully more of my friends will message them. I don't expect it to really change anything - but I'd like the shitheads to know they are hated :) Robert Buswold

Here is the contact info for the management district: fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinter...

and a picture of the two vandals on the top of the peak with another sharpied-up rock:

Seems like there is ample evidence to fine the 'climbers', I suggest a few politely worded emails to the forest service district office.

A respectful message has been sent to the alleged pair; this particular issue can be handled by our local climbing community, and does not--in my own opinion--need to involve the Pleasant Grove Ranger District. Don't get me wrong, this bums me out--I can safely say--more than any other human being on the planet with respect to the amount of time I've put in there, but I would prefer not to allow the internet to escalate a situation that can easily be dealt with privately, and diplomatically. Email sent, along with a link to the photo listed on here and the one on his Facebook page showing the other marked rock with them pointing to it and twitter message, that puts them at that location. With a few emails from conceded people I`m sure they will take notice

Thanks for all your support, climbing community! I agree with Shingo; we should handle the situation diplomatically. If, however, when I go back up there in 2 weeks and the graffiti is still there, then I'll take a next step. Shiho

That is lame, I sent a friendly facebook message to both of them as well as an email to the forest service. Hopefully they take it upon themselves to go clean up their mess. You would expect this from someone who hikes to the top of Petes Rock on wasatch, not the summit of Lone Peak. dorseyec
