Upper Blackheart Amphitheater (Convincer Area) Rock Climbing
BETA PHOTO: Not sure who made this, pulled from tabvar.com.
Atop a nice ledge on the huge amphitheater rests a few really good climbs on pretty good rock. One among them, The Convincer, is a huge 35m pitch that has been called "one of the best climbs in the bow valley." Is it? Well go find out!
The old way was to climb an approach pitch called "ground floor going up?" which is a dirty piece of garbage.
The new way is to use the Via Ferrata installed and climb up on the right side of the ledge. This is about 20m right of the old access and a bushwack trail leads up to the first rung.

An excellent route. However, the rating may feel very soft for the boulderers out there who are climbing this thing. It's basically crux climbing to no hands rests. Not very sustained but the top crux is very hard compared to everything else. Does it get the grade? Perhaps. Is it excellent? Very much so.Climb to the obvious right hand corner and start the first of 4ish cruxes. Have fun!...[more] Browse More Classics in International
