Access Issue: Echo Canyon Seasonal Closure: Jan. 1 - second Saturday in April (and sometimes longer)
Details
The Echo Canyon climbing areas are located within the Henefer-Echo Wildlife Management Area. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources closes all access to the WMA each year from January 1 to the second Saturday in April (and sometimes longer) to protect wintering wildlife.
Description
Start behind a boulder. Climb up and trend left to an undercling flake. From here, use a bomber flake to go straight up to eventually reach a horizontal break with a giant obvious cobble protruding below the break. Crux is getting to the horizontal break after clipping the bolt below it. Angle goes to near vertical for the last 40 feet. This route is super dirty, however the moves are actually quite good throughout. This thing needs more traffic and perhaps a good scrub down from top to bottom. It has the potential to be really good.
