T Runt topo

Description

T Runt is a stout line on a twin crack system splitting a short, overhanging face on the lower part of Genetic Wall. Sustained climbing, athletic movements, and natural pro make this a worthy challenge at the grade.

The name comes from the observation that the twin cracks outline the shape of a cartoon dinosaur, not unlike the shape of T Rex Spire in West Sedona.

Easiest way to start is by bouldering up to the right of the twin cracks and swinging left on the obvious triangle-shaped block. (Direct start is more true to the grade, but tricky to protect.) Punch it through the steep twin cracks, through a techy crux and pull onto a big ledge using hero handjams. Step out right to follow an easy fist-OW crack on the varnished arete. Two-bolt chain anchor where the slab rolls over.

Location

Obvious twin crack system splitting the lower right side of Genetic Wall.

Protection

Single rack from teeny tiny TCUs to #3 camalot.
