Moving up the gut of Black Thing


Twin Falls in south central Idaho is situated mostly on the rim above the Snake River Canyon. The Snake River Canyon is a famous gorge carved by the Snake River and is home to dozen's of volcanic basalt cliffs and crags.

Some of the rock in the canyon is very good and there are about a dozen different climbing destinations in and around the Snake River Canyon.
Dierkes Lake and Dierkes Lake Bouldering are among the best known.

Getting There 

You can get to Twin Falls from the east or the west on I-84. Turn south on US Highway 93. After about 3 miles you will cross the bridge spanning the Snake River Canyon and enter the city of Twin Falls. Coming from the south, get on US highway 93 in Nevada and travel north to Twin Falls.
