Rock Climbing Photo: leading Hailstone Arete
Heading to the Sierras tomorrow for ~2 months and plan to spend the time backpacking and climbing. First stop is Tuolumne then open to anything from Lover's Leap to Bishop, Owens, Whitney Portal, etc.

Seeking partners for anything moderate in those areas. I'm still a climbing newb - been sport climbing and bouldering outdoors for 1 year and couple years in the gym. Comfortable leading up to 5.10a sport outdoors for now and will follow a little harder.

I'm really keen to start trad climbing - recently finished piecing together a full rack and ready to scuff up all this shiny new gear. Yeah I'm one of those guys ... seeking a partner with trad experience willing to let a gumby follow and learn on some moderate routes. I'm safe, smart, fit, and have read Freedom of the Hills and a couple other books. Time to put things into practice.

An ideal month ahead would include Matthes, Cathedral, Conness, Whitney, Russell, Charlotte Dome, etc. if I can find a trad partner. Otherwise I'll eventually head down toward ORG and Lone Pine area looking for sport partners and bouldering.
