Back from Outer Space

This area is accessed up the gully to the left of Mossness as you face the wall. A new trail was recently established, making the approach to the upper boulder field much more pleasant. Continue up through the boulder field until encountering two logs laying at a right angle to your path. Head right, back toward the cliffs, and find the dirt chute between rock outcrops with a yew tree guarding the entrance. A fixed rope will be visible up and to the left. The first wall is behind the yew tree the rope is affixed to. These south-facing walls can be hot in the summer and dry quickly after rain. It is possible to climb here in the winter given relatively dry conditions and passable road conditions.

Getting There

Hike approximately 10 min to the left uphill from Mossness

The rock features many sharp, spikey growths that will tear up your hands and shoes if you aren't careful. Great climbing on a mix of bulbous features and edges. The redpoint crux comes at the very top as you try to reach the chains....[more]   Browse More Classics in Washington
