The Tsaina wall is an amazing crag located on the steep rock just above the raging Tsaina River. It consists of half a dozen routes with Ant Eater and Jacobs Ladder being classic in quality. The wall receives lots of sun and has only a few minute approach yet this beautiful setting makes it seem a word away form civilization.

Getting There

You will cross the Tsaina Bridge and park on right side of the north bound Richardson Highway between a small pond and the avalanch sign. Follow a faint train into the woods and across a small wooden bridge. Walk for two miniuts to the top of the wall then turn left. All routes are reached by means of a rapell.

Be careful of a small bee hive that was hanging from some alders that the base in the summer of 2013. Pull the rope and lead up past a bit of moss and onto great rock. Climb past three bolts and a fixed pin. Then plug some gear into a small crack till the rock fades back to face climbing. Past three more bolts and continue on to the anchor....[more]   Browse More Classics in Alaska

Lots of the bolts here are bad. The new routes were almost all botched. Removed some, replaced an anchor. Some serious retro action took place on Jacobs and ant. Bummer
