Shirttail Peak is closed to all activities, including rock climbing, due to Golden Eagles nesting in the area. Trespassing constitutes a federal offense and violators will be cited. Eagles are sensitive to disturbance caused by human presence and may abandon their nest and young as a result.
There is a crack in the middle of the face, but there are many fine variations.
The "Pyramid" is framed by two slabs. On the left (north) side of the pyramid lies "Simple Simon Slab". On the right side of the pyramid, facing south, is the "Time Out" slab.
Park south of the Pyramid, in the lot for the South Picnic Area. As you walk back to the pyramid, you'll notice a trail behind a "No Parking" sign. Take this trail to the ledge system that leads to the top of Simple Simon Slab, et cetera.
