Description

Welcome to The Wall of Echos, WALL OF ECHOS, Wall of Echos, wall of echos!!!! :)
The WOE is the very large, steep elaborate cliff band, that soars majestically up and off of the northwestern recess of the Indian Buttress. With over eleven existing routes on a maze of never ending splitters to the sky and many more being discovered daily. The WOE is divided up into four very distinct sectors. Joshua's Buttress a.k.a. The Medicine Man Pillar, The Manta Buttress, Brian's Buttress a.k.a The light Binder Tower, and The Obelisk!!!!

Getting There

Same as Indian Buttress but continue 100 yards up into the Echo Gully. The WOE will become obvious to climbers immediate left. A climbers trail does exist if one trends to the extreme left imidiatly after the Little Indian continuing up along the base of the WOE!

Meddle 5.9 5c 17 VI 17 HVS 5a  California : Tahquitz & Suicide Rocks : ... : The Manta Buttress
Meddle is named after the Pink Floyd album in honor of it's longest song "ECHOS". Coined for the Manta Buttress's location on "The wall of Echoes". As of this posting, it may be the longest route on this formation. The rock quality is incredible, but as always in this area be mindful of rock fall. The first three pitches are 180'-200' each...Rope drag can be...[more]   Browse More Classics in California
