Sharksfin Arete Boulder. Photo by Blitzo.

This boulder, looking something like a shark's fin or breadloaf depending on your perception and/or viewing angle, is home to a few problems from V-easy to V2.

Getting There

Drive 3.8 miles down the Geology Tour Road and park in a turnout on the right suitable for about 3 or 4 cars. Cross the road and the boulder will be in front of you at ground level in front of a rubble pile.

Rock Climbing Photo: Shark's Fin Left (V-easy), Joshua Tree NP

Shark's Fin Left V-easy 3  California : Joshua Tree National Park : ... : The Shark Fin
Start left of Shark's Fin Arete and highstep into the groove then move up a ramp to finish on the grainy arete. Will be better when it cleans up.* This problem isn't listed in the Joshua Tree Bouldering Guide but is an obvious line with some good moves that's worth a go when in the area....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
