Seasonal Raptor Closure at Black Wall-Lifted 2016 MORE INFO >>>

Description

Deep in the wilderness above Donner Lake lie a number of large granite boulders. The two main boulders are the Black Wall and Saddle Boulder. These boulders house a substantial amount of problems from V0 to V12.

More problems and information can be found here: wikiboulder.com/guides/guide/C...

Getting There

Previously, the area was accessible by the old train tunnels; however, those are no longer open to motor vehicles. Climbers may park at the entrance of the old railway tunnels and trek out to the boulders or drive up Coldstream Road as far as your car can make it and then hike the rest. From the stream/railway crossing on Coldstream Road, the hike is approximately a mile and a half. The road after the railway crossing is very rough and generally has numerous trees down along the way as well. Once at the "parking area" however the boulders are just a short jaunt into the woods.
