Eliminate line on the the compressor block. Climb the compressor but avoid using the right arete. Right starting hand is an undercling on the face. Top out to the left.

See compressor for directions.

A couple pads?

Fun quality eliminate line i thought id add! Grade is pretty iffy. Harder then the compressor in my book! Match move is super cool!

Greg I would just add this in the comments of the first problem and not it's own problem. It's not worth putting up a list for each and every way a problem can be done

i feel the same way about a lot of the problems at the lake that are on mountain project at least this one isnt hella contrived..not to sure what to say.

I think what Dobbe is getting at is that in the description you call it an eliminate and while a lot of variations may have been put up, very few have been eliminates. Saying in the comments section of The Compressor that "It can be done without the right arete, bumping the grade up a bit" may be a better place for problems like this.

Sorry let me slow it down for you. This is not a problem. If I dyno past a hold or avoid a hold that does not make it another problem.
P.S Not using the easiest way up a problem to make it harder is the definition of contrived and that is what this is.

While I happen to agree with Dobbe here I think it would be best to explain more clearly what we believe to be the "rules" for posting on MP.

I once suggested that sub-lines be able to be added under problems to supply a place to list variations like these such that when you click on a route the variations would then appear on the route list to the left. Unfortunately, this has not happened yet. Please email the admins to express that you would like to see this done if you think its a good solution. Please post here too:

In the mean time...

Some of us are against posting variations like these because they needlessly confuse and disorganize an area to someone who perhaps doesn't know the lake as well as we do. I, among others, spend alot of my personal time posting, organizing, taking pictures, and perfecting descriptions to provide a better experience for those using MP to explore the area. When variations such as these are posted in a manner as if they were problems of themselves I (and presumably Dobbe) find it annoying because it detracts from my/our effort.

But, to hell with my feelings. Imagine you are visiting DL and on MP decide to go to a certain area because there seems to be a wealth of good hard problems. Unfortunately when you arrive you realize 10 of the 20 lines are just variations of the same thing (exaggeration here). I think that reflects poorly on DL is a whole and our climbing community.

In addition, we've had issues with people getting what I call "FA Fever" in which minor variations are posted with this person(s) claiming FA. The motivation in these cases seem to be claiming some sort of personal glory rather than adding to the wealth of the climbing. This is insulting to those who truly find, clean, and send new projects. However, I don't believe that to be the case here.

Greg et al, seem to be motivated to climb and that's sweet but please, for my reasons stated above, we would appreciate it if minor variations are posted as comments under the main route. Hopefully my initial suggestion of how to sort routes will be implemented and we can all avoid nasty internet discussions such as above.

Be well,

Also, posting problems without some sort of beta pic is most definitely a faux pas.

So, the question here is: If you go bouldering at DL and don't claim a first ascent on Mountain Project, did you actually go bouldering?

You also need a HD video of the send to actually be "bouldering".
