The Outlier Boulder Rock Climbing
The Outlier Boulder is the biggest in the area and it's large pyramid shape should be recognizable from far away. Unfortunately, most of the faces are pretty slabby, but the steep face holds two good problems.
From the Lower Cliff, hike left and a bit down into the woods. After less than a five minute hike, you should see the Outlier Boulder.

Variance climbs the left arete on the steep face of The Outlier Boulder. Because it actually has holds, albeit small ones, Variance doesn't climb like many of the aretes in the area. Start with a left hand sidepull and stand up on a pretty good left foot. Work your way up the arete by using small crimpers for your hands and hard foot movements. The difficulty eases when you get both feet on the less-steep face. ...[more] Browse More Classics in New Hampshire
