The Mansion Rock Climbing
On its way to Castle Dome, the trail passes the top of The Mansion, an impressive wall separated from Castle Dome by a steep, brushy gully, and having a distinctive, detached summit block the size of a small building. The rather unpleasant approach has limited the popularity of this fine crag.
Follow the Crags Trail past Six-Toe Rock and continue up the steep, rocky tread until it reaches the obvious head of the gully. Leave the trail at this point, then head down and right along slabs to the brushy floor of the gully, and continue on down until you reach the foot of the crag. To return, walk southeast from the top of the crag and soon return to the Crags Trail.
