This is a secluded dry-tooling/ mixed zone on high-quality sandstone. The Man Cave is sunny until 3pm in the winter.

Getting There

Drive down CO Highway 133, 9 miles past Carbondale. Just after the Redstone, turn off to the left, take a right on the Coal Basin Road. Drive to where the road terminates at the winter closure, which is about 3 miles. An approach trail that switchbacks up a steep slope appears on the south side of the road, about 100 feet down from the road closure (practically across from where you will park). Hike up the slope to the cave. Watch out for daggers of ice hanging down like stalactites in a cave. On a warm day, they could seriously maim you....
