Description

This is a great small zone in a rarely traveled portion of the Narrows. The area gets morning sun until upon 1pm depending on the season. A river crossing is required, so check water levels before venturing across.

DO NOT USE THE PRIVATE FOOTBRIDGE.

Getting There

From Ted's Place, drive to the Lower Narrows, and pass the parking areas for Electric Ocean/Widowmakers and Colors Crag. Look for a private footbridge before a sharp right hand turn. Park carefully in the pullout right in the middle of the turn.

From here, there is an easy river crossing directly below the pullout. After crossing, move upstream to the major gully/ravine looker's left of The Keep. Move to the right side of the gully to pass the small waterfall/cliff before continuing directly up the gully. Towards the top, the cairns will lead you right and over a ridge to reach the base of the climbs. This is still a very rough trail that requires some bushwhacking in a burn zone (20 minutes).

This was the first line put up at The Keep, and it comes with some cool exposure. The route rides the face and the arête of the pillar-like formation on the right. It starts on the jugs down low and works sidepulls and edges on the arête. Move left near the top, and make several exciting moves to the finish....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
