BETA PHOTO: The Hobbit Hole is just to the right of marker 11 ...

The Hobbit Hole has a Richmond area oddity, a roof. Aside from the obvious lip traverse (The Hobbit Traverse), there are not any clear cut boulder problems. Instead, there are an abundance of holds that can be used, or not used, in the making of your own herculean concoctions. Be sure to get those hamstrings warm first, mantling is on the menu.

Getting There

Parking can be found in the gravel lot on Riverside drive just East of 42nd Street. Follow the trail from the lot until you see the Shark Boulder. From the boulder, head directly downhill, past the spikey stump, and across the trail. The boulder faces the train tracks. If you get lost, find trail marker #11. The boulder is to the right of it when facing the tracks.
