Description

The headless horseman is the route that starts at center under the overhang. Climb up the facey crimps then up and right of the overhang finishing up the steep nobs in the head wall face just right of the arête.

Location

Can't miss it on the side of the road at the middle of the summit. One of the most unique rock formations at Mt. Woodson.

Protection

TR Bolts

How can something be 5.11+ or V6?

V6 is 5.12 to 5.12+

There's no direct translation V-Scale to YDS. I would imagine the reason is that on TR it feels 5.11+, but way up above pads it's going V6-ish.

It's all about the actual moves, which can't be THAT different if you're TRing it vs. bouldering it. Height or commitment aren't factored into the rating. V6 is on the high end of the 5.12 scale, there's nothing vague about that...I definitely think this page should be edited!

Corrected to V4 (tops). Awfully tall for a boulder problem though.
