The Hatrack Rock Climbing
BETA PHOTO: The Hatrack - NorthEast Face. Photo by Blitzo.
This low, oblong formation is located directly behind the Handicapped Parking at the paved parking lot for Cap Rock. While not especially appealing it does offer a number of friction/slab problems within staggering distance of your vehicle. Expect to get asked silly question from the tourists if bouldering here or at any of the other spots along the loop "nature trail".
Easily accessed from the paved parking area on the south end of Cap Rock.
Weather station 10.1 miles from here

You'll encounter one good fingerlock but other than that it's all friction and pimping crystals as you stretch for the top - being tall helps on this one. One star out of five. ...[more] Browse More Classics in California
