The Fridge is an amazing large boulder between the Van Orden House and the peak. This boulder has many different routes of varying difficulties and has something for everyone. The south side of the boulder is about 15 feet tall, and has a couple of crimpy problems on it. Both the west and east side of the boulder have lower and easier problems. After topping out, you can walk off the south side of the boulder.

Getting There

The Fridge is about a 3/4 of a miles hike from the trail head. To get to The Fridge, follow the Long Path from the trail head on Old Route 304 to where it splits off to the Van Orden House spur trail, which is marked with white blazes. Follow this spur trail until you reach the pond, then walk south up the hill off the trail until you get to the boulder.

Start with both hands on the underling, move up to the good ledge, and then to the sloper at the top or you can also try to land a small crimp that is just behind the sloper. After topping out, just walk off the back of the boulder....[more]   Browse More Classics in New York
