North facing and shady but comfortable on 70 degree days.
Routes have a much different flavor than other Milagrosa climbs.
Bring a light rack for the two corner crack climbs.

Getting There

Hike into the canyon via the creek bed. The cliff is directly underneath the first climbs you would come to if you hiked in on the trail. Formation as two striking (for Mt. Lemmon) diedrals with routes also on either side.

Climbing Season

For the La Milagrosa Canyon area.

My understanding of the routes from right to left (downstream to upstream):

Give It A Burl
Hard Yakka
Koala Corner
Sheila Tester
The Under Over

My favorites were Sheila Tester, Digit-redo and The Under Over. Most of these climbs have a bolt or two of rotten rock before cleaning up. A couple of the bolts seemed a bit reachy but I may have just been looking for a quick clip. The Under Over is the most unique climb of the area and perhaps the only one without a comparable, superior climb on the Main Wall.

All in all, a fun addition to the crag. Thanks.

Watch what you pull on and have belayers wear helmets.

Climbed all but the Under Over & Koala Corner. Interesting, but chossy. Definitely be aware as a belayer, or wear a helmet. No Gimmes here. One of the more kid-friendly crags on the mountain.

Several people mention rotten rock and wearing helmets, but Ms. LaTufa says it's a kid-friendly crag. I'm in the market for kid-friendly, but loose rock coming off the cliff doesn't seem compatible with that. Is there a place you can set the kid up (accompanied by watchful adult) reasonably near the cliff, but away from the line of fire? My daughter is 2 months, so not going to walk or crawl away anywhere, but my greatest fear is having her beaned by rockfall (2nd greatest is bees).

There are plenty of places well away from the routes for kids to hang out safely.
