I have been to the Crack House before, but was driving a 4x4 vehicle with high clearance. I am wondering if it is accessible with a awd drive vehicle. More specifically, would an outback make it ok? Thanks in advance.

I've taken my VW Westy there. But, I used gravity and came in from the top.

They bladed the sh!t out of it. You could get there with a civic from either direction.

I disagree that you could make it with a low clearance 2WD from 191. there are a couple spots I bet for sure 2WD would get shut down-specifically the 2 major steep climbs, especially the really loose/silty one.

I bet you could make it with your Subi from the top off 313 with some careful driving around only a couple sketchy sections. And I would recommend driving back out the way you came, but it may be possible to get the Soob out the bottom section(since you'll be above the hardest climb). Let me know how that works out if you do, I'm curious.

Just my opinion, I go to the Crack House often from both directions.

I got my mom's minivan up there once without tickling the undercarriage. An outback would boss that shit.

I made it up to the crackhouse via 191 in a 95 Toyota Avalon. It has very low clearance and 2WD. Now, when I say we made it out there, I do not mean the trip was enjoyable. If you don't have something with a little clearance, I highly suggest going in for the western entrance. I prefer to use the 191 entrance, but I have a truck with 4WD now. That Avalon died from going on adventures like that one.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
