Description

Cut bank that's between 150 and 200 feet in height. Climbing up it includes climbing through at least three separate rock layers, each about 20-40 feet in height. The first layer is a type of limestone and the last layer is a type of sandstone, but I'm not sure about any intermediate layers. Potential here for a multipitch route, but be careful of loose and sharp rock.

Getting There

The big catch in this area is getting there. From the Banning Road area, head down the main gated road to the very bottom of the hill. During the winter, you can drive down the road, but only for a limited time-frame. At the bottom is a parking area for the Alliance Furnace. From this parking area, you have to cross the creek to get to the cliff. Clearly this isn't any easy task, but is best accomplished by using a canoe to paddle across with your gear.

Climbing Season

For the Southwestern Highlands area.
