Access Issue: Seasonal Raptor Closures ***** RAIN AND WET ROCK ***** The sandstone in Zion is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Holds rip off and climbs have been and will continue to be permanently damaged due to climbers not respecting this phenomenon. After a heavy storm the rock will remain wet, sometimes for several days. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB IN ZION during or after rain. A good rule of thumb is that if the ground near your climb is at all damp (and not powdery dry sand), then do not climb. There are many alternatives (limestone, granite, basalt, and plastic) nearby. Description

A little collection of boulders situated along the beautiful Taylor Creek. There is one phenomenal line (Sculpted Rust) and a handful of other pleasant practice problems. The rock will feel sandy if it hasn't been recently climbed.

The trail can become very popular with hikers and tourists. Expect onlookers to troll you if you are climbing on these boulders between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Likewise, it is probably best to avoid excessive chalk use in this area.

Getting There

Park at the Taylor Creek Trailhead. Walk up the Taylor Creek trail for 15 to 20 minutes. These boulders sit immediately to the side of the trail. The geographic coordinates provided on this page pinpoint the exact location of the biggest boulder.
