Description Suggest change

A fantastic sandstone cliff that acts as a testing ground for Cape Town climbers. With incredible views of the ocean and the city below the climbing here is unlike many other places in the world. You can find many different styles of climbing here but expect to do more face climbing with horizontal rails that allow protection and wild roofs that are intimidating from below but still very climbable.

All of the routes here have been developed with a strict intention that no bolting is allowed. Though you'll find rappel anchors on occasion, you should expect to build your own gear. One can reach the main crags, Africa Ledge and Fountain Ledge by either hiking up the India Venster or by taking the Cable Car up and hiking back down to the base or rappeling.

Far below the main crags you have the Venster and Arrow Buttress which allows for more moderate climbing on severely more lichenous rock.

Adventuring up Table Mountain will allow you to see the fabled Dassi, Sugarbirds, Caracal, and even the invasive Tahrs. The floral landscape is quite unbelievable as the Fynbos dominates the views, and the ocean acts as a stark contrast to the mountains and even allows for some amazing sunsets should you be too late off of the mountain.
