Schist boulders with some good easier problems and some of the best hard "low-ball" sit starts and traverses on the coast!

Getting There

Just north of the town of Jenner on Hwy. 1. Exactly 2.3 miles north of the Hwy. 116 and Hwy. 1 intersection park in turnouts either on the left (westside) of Hwy.1 or on the right (east) side of Hwy.1 directly below the boulders. A short one minute hike will take you from Hwy. 1 to the boulders.

Original called "The Not So Super Slab" we used it as a place to warm up efore heading out to Dry Creek Sea Crag in the mid 90s.Later Chris Summit and Sean ? worked the lower overhang for some very nice low start boulder problems. A nice stop when climbing on the north coast or a destination if your a pure Boulderer (photos on

This place seems to be small and unused. My friends and I went last weekend and were kicked off by some Ranger. I guess the property is private property and they don't want anyone climbing here any more. So we traveled up to Salt Point State Park, which was much better.

thats a bummer. i cant see any land owners house and the fence is on the uphill side of the rock anyways which makes me totally doubt the ranger saying its priv prop actually knew if it was nor not which means they were lying. i have never heard of a problem there in like 12-14 years that weve been climbing there. i would say it is probably a fluke and a bored and ignorant ranger. super slab is climber turf now i say. it is small but it has a lot of tough lowballs VB-V9 that you can do by yourself and without a crowd on weekends like goat rock.
