A highly featured low angle slab of excellent rock quality, and the closest rock to the road. This juggy face makes for a fun warm-up free solo, but for those so inclined there is a modestly protected traditional line on the left flank. Around the left side at the base there is a near-vertical face with several short sport routes.

Getting There

Hike approximately 0.5 miles from the parking area, when you emerge from the chaparral to the open ridge keep hiking for a minute and the slab will become visible facing directly towards you. To reach the base, walk down a short loose gulley to the north (not the gully directly adjacent to the slab).

Sublime Line 5.4 4a 12 IV 10 VD 3c  California : Northeast California : ... : Sunrise Slab
An long easy route up the center of the slab with abundant large holds and huge stances. Bolts where you want them, a good beginner lead. This route is a fun solo, the slab is very low angle and the rock is solid. Simply take the path of least resistance. Appropriate to climb in sticky rubber approach shoes if you have them. Exposed scramble to set up a TR, probably easier to just lead it.Note: pitch is a full 35 meters, use a 70 meter rope or be prepared to downclimb easy terrain at the ...[more]   Browse More Classics in California
