  • Description

This "F3" route makes for a fun scramble. It is not much of a roped climb, since there is really no pro. The rock is great and this climb would be a classic if it was longer and if it went somewhere.

This ramp starts halfway up the south side of Der Zerkle in the "Court". Follow this sunny ramp for ~200 feet and pass a large boulder on the right or left side. You are now on a legde system on the west side of Der Zerkle. A short scramble to the north leads back to the base. There are two recommended finishes to this climb. 1.) Scramble up the obivous chimmey to the notch to the south of the main summit. This is the end of the East face left route. 2.) Tag the summit by the west face route.

Fun scrambling up good rock on the side of Der Zerkle. Low angle but water polish in the gully makes it a bit more challenging at times. From the top, one can continue to the summit at 5.0 or continue North and walk off. Enjoy!

Short but fun. The holds are good and plentiful all the way up but somewhat water polished. Before climbing this, I wondered how it would be getting around the boulder at the top, but going around the left was easy and secure. Beware of pebbles in the holds, both for the sake of secure holds, and the folks below.
