BETA PHOTO: Sunken Treasure with flake on the left and crack o...

RAIN AND WET ROCK The sandstone in Red Rocks is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. MORE INFO >>>

Description

Crux is near the top when the crack ends, getting over the bulge to the anchor.

Location

Right route, starts with a crack on the right and a flake on the left.

Protection

New: crux has a bolt so go for it! First 4/5ths of the route trad to 1". I used yellow, orange and red Metolius plus a few small-med stoppers. Hooks anchor.

Really fun, but stout and a #6 HB offset is mandatory to protect the upper crux on this (you would hit the ground if you blew it above the nut and this piece pulled). The #6 is bomber, though- a regular nut may pop out.

Good fun, definitely a worth jaunt for the solid 5.10 trad leader.
