So what are we calling this thing with the newly broken hold?

I'd say V7. The hold that broke off was fairly crucial and is now significantly smaller and sharper.

The grade is still the same to me. I still used all the same beta. The climber barely needs more control to move to the broken hold. I was always told Sunday Stroll is a really hard V5 when I first moved here. I was so proud the first time I ever climbed it. I believe hard V6 is still a good grade for the boulder problem. I'm still really surprised to see that hold break. It's probably seen well over a 100 ascents. Let's remember our sandstone in Durango is great for climbing but fragile. If it doesn't look climbable, it is time for another project that is in better climbing condition.

P.S. Hard V6 or soft V7 is pretty much the same thing but less points on your score card, which I don't really care about with my climbing.

I was thinking more in the V12-V13 range. I need those points!

It feels more sustained but not any harder.

Ben, definitely over 100 ascents. I've done it at least 100 times myself! When I lived near there, I'd go do 10 laps on it maybe three days a week a few winters.

There's a harder line of pockets just left of Sunday Stroll, maybe using some Stroll holds. I don't know how hard- maybe V9. John Duran route.

I never tried this rout before the hold broke, but it's definitely a stiff V6. Great climb, one of the many classic routs at Sailing Hawks!
