While Sullivan's Canyon is better known as a top rope and moderate trad crag, there is some classic bouldering to be had down in those depths. The pocketed basalt can be pretty slick which demands honest foot work, on top of everything else.

All in all, as a bouldering area it can be peaceful and pristine, or mucky and crowded with groups.

Getting There

Located off Old Highway 89 about 5 miles north of Chino Valley or 1/2 mile south of Paulden. Take Hwy 89, then turn east onto Old Highway 89. Park in a lot on the east side of the road south of the river. Hike east along the rim.
