I'm planning to start a climbing camp in Asia. It's a small operation with expectations of 20 climbers per day. Who should i contact to get gear? I'm not looking for free gear or sponsorships. I want to know who to contact for shoes, harnesses and hard goods. Any info would be great. Thanks in Advance!

Wait you are trying to start a climbing camp but don't know who to contact about gear? Maybe the people who make it....

Thanks for the tips. Most of the companies that I've spoken to work with a dealer/distributor for wholesale quantities. I'm looking for those types of contacts. I'm in need of harnesses, shoes, quickdraws, and carabiners. If anyone can help, much appreciated.

I've got new harnesses and 20 some pairs of shoes, all from a closed business. Most shoes are small sizes too,(5 to 7) ideal for smaller Asian feet. PM sent, get in touch this week if you are interested.

I don't know of any companies, within the climbing industry or outside it, that wouldn't be eager to direct you to their distributor in your area. You're either asking the wrong question (are you looking for something for free??) or have just zero sense of how business works. Really, I don't understand what your problem is.

I'm assuming he wants to know a retailer who can give him a good discount on low quality gear brought in bulk.

Definitely an unusual question to be asking. You should form your company and then apply for prodeals. This would allow you to buy direct from all the big companies at the prodeal discout (usually about 40%.)

These forms take time to fill out but would save you money if you have a legitimate company.

I would contact the companies directly:

Black Diamond
Petzl
Bluewater Ropes
Sterling Ropes
CMI
CMC
SMC
PMI
Omega Pacific
The list of manufacturers goes on and on.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
