Description

Traverse the obvious crack right to left. Might not be the original name, let me know if I need to correct. (see pic)

Location

Probably the most obvious climb in the sit down area. You'll see it on the left side of the road as you approach.

FA - Paul Baird, early '70s. He called it Early Traverse in his notes, being one of his first LW routes. From his notes - "This problem has been done in mountain boots, crampons, tennis shoes, running shoes, basketball shoes, no shoes, no feet, no clothes, started from the left, started as a sit down, one handed and blind folded"

I'm a little confused as to whether this tops out on the first boulder or transfers across the split to the next. This appears to up the difficulty...

It more often tops out on the first boulder once you get to the split unless you are looking for more burn, in which case you drop back down and continue traversing along the crack. No distinction is really made, though it is harder. You can also enter the split and keep traversing into Dave's Crank if you can get past the tree
