BETA PHOTO: the Southeast Face of Crag at the End of the Unive...

Description

The Southeast Face is found around the arete to the right of the Southwest Face. The first two routes are considerably shorter because they start on a block that is an easy scramble from the ground. The quality of the rock is quite good and the crystals hold your feet very well. There are just three climbs on this short wall but all are well worth doing. All the routes can be top-roped from the same bolted anchors.

Getting There

This is the southeast face of Crag at the End of the Universe. It is around the left from the right end of the Southwest Face.

Edge OTU is the bolted line on the left side of the southeast face. Start on the same block as for the Void, but lean left and clip the first bolt. The crux is really a sequence of balancy moves, leaving the block and passing the first bolt. Although the difficulty eases up a bit, there are several nice, delicate moves to be had on this short climb as you work past the remaining bolts to the anchor. To descend, walk off to the right (when facing the wall)....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
