BETA PHOTO: Siung climbing area on the left

The busiest climbing area in Yogyakarta, Siung located right next to the beach. Typical coastal walls with limestone rock, most walls is facing the ocean (south).

Crowded on the weekend or during school holidays. To enter the beach you will pay entrance and parking fees.

Camping in the climbing area is not suggested. You can camp on the beach. Also, there is a lodge type place called "Kedai Panjat Moro Seneng" in the very west of the parking spot. There are a few rooms or you can sleep on the floor if you want. You can use the bathrooms and order foods from them. There is no fixed rate for the lodge.

Not all routes are well-maintained. Some are having corroded bolts. ALWAYS check the bolts before you climb!

Bringing climbing tape is a good idea for climbing on sharp pocket holds.

Getting There

It takes 3 hours from Yogyakarta city. From Yogyakarta city go towards East Ringroad and go eastward toward Jalan Wonosari. Drive until Wonosari town center/market and turn right onto Jalan Baron, turn left onto Jalan Tepus, turn left onto Jalan Pantai Selatan Jawa. Turn right onto Jalan Pantai Siung after a sharp left turn. Sidenote, there are several traffic signs toward “Pantai Siung” once you pass Wonosari town. Once you pass the ticket gate drive for 15 minutes toward the climbing area.

Climbing Season

For the Asia area.
