Sidewinder Canyon Rock Climbing
Sidewinder Canyon is a very secluded little canyon north of the La Garita Wall. There are not very many routes, but there are a couple mega-classics like Spiderbaby
. In my oppinion, all of the good routes in this canyon are on the left hand side (the north side).
If you are coming from the La Garita cash store, this is the first right turn after the Penitente turnoff. At this turnoff, there are 2 roads to take, going right takes you to Witches, going left takes you to Sidewinder. From this fork, it is about a mile to the parking. The parking area is identified by a wooden road closure gate on your right after you drive down a hill. From the parking, walk north on the closed road for about 15 minutes to the climbs.

Because of his outstanding reputation, I would be very surprised if Mullin struggled his way up this for the FA with his belay mom....[more] Browse More Classics in Colorado
