This route starts as a gentle buttress but gets steeper and steeper as you climb until hitting the crux overhanging section. It's strenuous but very well bolted. The exposure is fantastic up high. As the guide book says, the last protection is a fat drill bit stuck in its hole, so bring a narrow sling to clove hitch the bit. I also slipped a wired stopper over the top and cinched it down with the nut to lock it in place--overkill. The narrow sling would have been plenty. The climbing up high isn't too hard.

The route faces west, so climb in the morning if it's warm or the afternoon if it's cold. We did it in the afternoon in February, and the belay never went into the sun, so be prepared for that.

NOTE! You cannot top rope and/or lower from this route as the anchors have no rings and are FAR back from the edge. To top rope, you'd need long slings to extend the anchor. As the guide book suggests, scramble down to Southern Man for a rappel--very easy to do.
