Topping out.

The Kingpin Boulder is closed to climbing MORE INFO >>>

Start on underclings and make a big reach to a right-facing corner before toping out. You can top this out several different ways (left, middle, right from the rail); however, they are all about the same difficulty.

No protection is required.

There are a couple problems on the backside of this boulder which are worth while if you are getting spanked around on Scuba Steve. The one on the left is a right handed dyno, off crimps... probably V2. The one on the right starts matched on the jug, go left hand to the pinch, heel it up and reach for the top out jug high ( V3).

Why does the NCCC guidebook rate this V7 and on here it's V5-6? I saw this problem today, and it seemed closer to 7 than 5. Just wondering. Either way, it looks sick and I want to do it.

Cesar, I think the differences in grade on this problem are due to the fact that the problem gets much more difficult the shorter you are. The beta used is very height dependent. Check this video out for the two usual ways and for some dyno beta.
