Looking down The Trundlebunny.

Lying just west of Across From The Bihedral aka Cascade Crag, Scruffy Crag is a slightly smaller buttress offering loose rock, lichen, and assured solitude.

Currently there appears to be two very short bolted lines and some possibility of other trad or TR lines. All will require heavy cleaning and heads up climbing.

B. ?, 9, 1p, 92', bolts & gear.
C1. ?, 10-, 1p, 97', bolts.
C2. ?, 9-, 1p, 100', gear & bolts.

Getting There

Park as for the Bihedral or Across From The Bihedral aka Cascade Crag. Either cross the creek directly to the base of the buttress or walk downstream a couple of minutes to the tyrolean. From the tyrolean, continue to and past Across From The Bihedral aka Cascade Crag to the next obvious buttress.

The Trundlebunny M6-7 R  Colorado : CO Ice & Mixed : ... : Scruffy Crag
Trundlebunny ascends the long and most obvious corner just left of center on the Scruffy Crag. The pitch begins in a low angle corner with thin hooking and slabby feet. The climb then steepens with the holds generally becoming better until the short crux is reached getting over the second bulge. At this point, you will have tenuous hooks and little to no good feet. Pull through to a good rest, and continue to the top via great jams, hooks, and torques in the widening corner crack. Where the corn...[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado

There are a couple bolted routes west of Trundlebunny. Anyone know what they are?

On the right side of this complex outcrop are three bolted lines. You can see the first three bolts of the leftmost route and the first three bolts of the middle route from the starting ledge, which is an easy scramble above the ground, a short distance from the creek.

The leftmost route has about nine bolts and is about 92 feet long, ending at Mussy hooks. Above the third bolt and the bulge, place a #2 Friend in the crack. The climbing up to and over the bulge was continuously strenuous (5.9).

The middle route felt like 5.10a and has about ten bolts. It ends at Mussy hooks at about 97 feet.

The rightmost route is really a variation of the middle. Around the corner to the right of the ledge, find a heavily lichened right-facing dihedral. Four bolts and a #0.75 Camalot protect the dihedral. At the top of the dihedral, join the middle route. Overall, the difficulty of this pitch feels like 5.9-.

I think that these routes are at least as good as anything on Cascade Crag, next door.
