RAIN AND WET ROCK The sandstone in Red Rocks is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. MORE INFO >>>

Description

The Scramblers wall area is a crag featuring a variety of low-grade trad routes. A bit run-out with some loose rock the routes found here can be somewhat forgettable. However the mellow nature and ability to access the anchors without leading the routes can offer a pleasant afternoon for new trad leaders to cut their teeth.

Getting There

For those familiar with the area

Approach as per The Slab after diving down into the gully head to the left (away from the slab) for a few hundred feet. If you reach the wash containing the Southern Neveda Climbers Coalition wag bag despencer you have gone too far.

For those unfamiliar with the area

You will head downhill from the first pullout parking lot. Make a left at the fork (Defined by a trail marker), continuing downhill. At a small wash the trail breaks hard left, winding through the slope coming down from the road.... as well as trending right and uphill. YOU will trend right here going back uphill through braided trails with a large tiger striped rock formation on your right (The Tiger Stripe Wall)

At the top of this hill you will find your self on a much more defined ridge trail with a good size gully/wash on your right. Follow the path of least resistance into this gully after which you will immediately begin to head left following braided trails . The trail will eventually tighten as it becomes flanked by various desert shrubs pushing you closer to the wall. Around this time you will find yourself at the right edge of the crag. If you reach the wash containing the Southern Neveda Climbers Coalition wag bag despencer you have gone too far.(10-15 min total)
