The famous Black Forest Bollenhut (pom pom hat) originated just a few kilometers from this crag. While this area has a huge number of crags, only a few are open for climbing. Additionally, given how close and easy to access a number of other areas in the region are, Schramberg remained largely unknown and unused until recently. But nowadays there are modern well maintained sport climbs all over. Rock is mostly granite and has plenty of cracks, dihedrals, slabs and more.

Two crags (Rabenfels and Kreuzfels) are just north of Lauterbach while Falkenstein and Muehlfels are a bit further south of Schramberg on the L175

Getting There Suggest change

The crags get their name from the town they are just outside of, Schramberg.

For Rabenfels and Kreuzfels, once in the Lauterbach itself, take the L108 towards Lauterbach. Park in the town center at the town hall (Rathaus) or by the cemetary.

For the Falkenstein and Muehfels, continue south on the L175 towards Tennenbronn.
