Description

On the western side of Bald Rock sits a great detached slab which offers some great beginner to advanced slabbin conveniently located just 5min from the parking lot. This area is however, located just behind some very rich guy's house so be discrete, NO MUSIC, etc. Access is not an issue as his yard ends in Redding and the climbing is on Bethel on town property but none the less no reason to piss them off.

Getting There

Just before reaching Bald Rock and The Boulders hop into the woods left of the dirt road, up over the ridge, past the Slugs and Crickets Block, down the hill and on your right.

Climbing Season

For the Bald Rock Basin area.

Chem Dog V0-1 4+  Connecticut : CT Bouldering : ... : Sativa Slab
This fun problem is located on the far right hand side of the rock feature, just uphill from the main slab. Easily recognizable by massive chunk missing from this rounded slab. Start standing on the right side and make some easy moves on big holds up into the cut in the slab. Work small crystals to the right following the ramp up and right. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in Connecticut
