SGNP encompasses an area of 104 km2 (40 sq mi) and is surrounded on three sides by India's most populous city. It is notable as one of the major national parks existing within a metropolis limit and is one of the most visited parks in the world.
The southern end includes Vihar lake, which is Mumbai's primary water source, and abuts IIT Bombay and Powai Lake.

Getting There

Borivali is a major bus hub, numerous buses, including air conditioned buses serve Borivali Bus Station/Railway station. The main entrance to SGNP is about 1km from this hub; catch a rickshaw or walk 10-15 mins to the main gate.
Purchase entry ticket. Easy to find parking places inside the park should you drive in (pay separate car fees at entry)
